Presentation
My name is Yvonne Frid and I live with Torleif Gustavsson outside
the city of Hedemora in Sweden. My cattery name is Arapaho´s,
an Indian name. We breed chinchilla and shaded silver Persians.
Background
In 1989 I acquired my first cat, a Sacred Birma from Thomas Johansson,
Lissekullan´s. In 1992 I acquired/got one more, this time
a Persian from Yamacatos. In 1993 the first queen arrived. I'm hooked
on Persians, can't imagine another race. To me there is nothing
more beautiful than a chinchilla or a shaded silver in show condition,
nor a more suitable race in respect of temperament.
Breeding
Our breeding is a small scale one. We want the kittens to have a
lot of our time and care and to be handled a lot when they are babies.
It's very important that the new member of a family is easy to handle
and fearless. Our goal for the exterior is to breed cats with an
agreeable weight, cobby with a good structure of the head and good
type, but with the chinchilla-look retained.
Co-operation
In the world of cats there is a great need of co-operation. We all
have a common interest in cats and have chosen a certain breed and
colour. We, who have chosen silver persians, have a small speciality
in Persians. So the Alpha and Omega for the best for the Silvers,
in respect of development and our mutual comfort, is that we maintain
our co-operation and enjoy each other's company.
Other interests
When you work fulltime there is limited time left for other interests
besides the cats. But it's important to find time for something
creative - carpentry, photography, drawing or so. The garden is
also a relaxating occupation.

have this summer added a Borzoi dog, exactly the same colour as
a chinchilla, to their community! BMN
